The oil system fluid capacity is 13.6 liters and cooling system fluid capacity is 18 liters. It can turn at a radius of 11 ft in. The operating voltage is 12V with alternator supplied amperage of 90 amps. The total number of forward and reverse gears is 4 and has a maximum forward speed of 25.5 mph and maximum reverse speed of 30.8 mph.

Talking about the significant part of the machine which is the loader, the maximum capacity of the loader is 0.87 yd3 with a bucket width of 82in and bucket breakout force of 9164lb. The lift capacity at full height is 6182 lb and the maximum clearance at dump height is 8.8 ft in. it is fitted with hydraulic pump which is gear-type and has a flow capacity of 28.5 gallon per minute. The relief valve pressure is 3050 psi.

Talking a bit about the dimension of the machine, the transport length and width of the machine is around 22.8 ft in and 7.2 ft in respectively whereas the height to the top of the cab is 8.8 ft in. The features given in this CASE backhoe is something that one can find in any other backhoe. However, the price is something that actually matters a lot here. It is much lower that the machines manufactures by its competitors and therefore becomes the most preferred machine.

Backhoes are one of the most widely used heavy construction equipments that are utilized at many construction sites. When one take the responsibility to operate a backhoe, the operator has to be very careful and well learned about the mechanism of how the backhoe is operated.

Steps to follow to operate a backhoe:

  • Check the location:

The first thing that the operator needs to know is the location of the backhoe. The position of the steering wheel, the control lever, gas pedal, brake pedals, emergency flashers, lights, horn, emergency brake, gauges and the ignition switches are the main parts that the operator needs to know.

  • Read the manual:

No matter how experienced and well taught an operator you are; you must read the manual of the backhoe, before you start to operate it. This will help the operator to understand the difference of the particular backhoe with the other backhoes.

  • Start the machine:

The next thing that the operator needs to do is to start the engine. After knowing the positions of the parts of the backhoe, and reading the manual, the operator is all set to put the engine on. While starting the machine, the operator must have a feel of the back boom and the bucket is stabilized. Without stabilizing the engine if you start it, then it will start vibrating violently.

  • Drive the heavy construction equipment:

After you have started the engine, you can move forward slowly by shifting the transmission forward and by releasing the parking brake. Keeping the balance of the machine is very important and since there is very little chance for the operators to drive the machine on smooth surface, the operator must use the second gear to maintain a stable and low speed.

  • Raise the backhoe boom and bucket:

This is the main part of operating heavy construction equipment such as a backhoe. The backhoes are used to lift materials at a construction site and therefore, the operator has to be very careful in lifting these materials. This is because a little inattentiveness might damage the entire process and also destruct the equipment. The control lever that operates the loader bucket or the backhoe boom is the main part that needs to be controlled while raising the backhoe loader.

This operating lever is situated on the left hand side of the machine in the operator’s cab, while sitting with the face put forward in the cab. Once the operator pulls the lever towards the rear, it raises the backhoe loader bucket, and if the operator pushes it forward, it lowers the bucket. The operator has to pull the lever towards the centre to scoop the materials from the construction site and then push it outwards to dump it. Steering the equipment the operator can control the direction of the backhoe loader.

Operating a backhoe loader is a very tricky job and needs experience. But once you learn the process, you can operate it easily.

Heavy Equipment for Pipeline Construction

  • Dozers: – Dozer is used to clear the land where the pipeline is going to be installed. The land is levelled using the dozers to enable the workers to construct the pipeline there. Here, they are mainly used for cutting and grading. Dozers which are generally used in pipeline jobs differ in sizes according to the job requirement.
  • Shovels: – Though shovel is not a heavy equipment, still it plays an important part in the construction of pipeline. They are used to dig, lift and shift huge objects required for pipeline jobs. They are one type of excavator and power shovels which are big in size is used during the work.
  • Backhoe:- The employees use backhoe to excavate the trench of pipeline. The land which has been excavated while carrying out the work of ditching is temporarily piled on the inactive side of the trench that means where no work is being done. The depth of the excavated ditch depends on the diameter and width of the pipe to be installed.
  • Pipe bending machine: – Each joints of the pipe to be installed are suspended along the right side which is adjacent to the unearthed ditch, and arranged in such a manner that it become gettable to the personnel employed in the pipeline job. The pipe-bending machine bends every joints of the pipe to the prescribed angle at places where there is a notable underground curvature and where it is needed to change the path of the pipeline. The pipe-bending machine includes Motor Grader, Motor Crane, Air Compressor, Pumps, Skid Truck and many more.
  • Side Boom Tractors:- The collections of the pipes are lowered into the trenches through the use of side boom tractors. The trench then is filled again with the help of bladed equipment like shovel, tractor and others.
  • Dump Truck: – Dump Truck is heavy equipment used in pipeline installation. It is used to carry loose materials like dirt, gravel and sand which can be purposeful for the pipeline job. It comes in a lot of types and the contractor should choose the right one to complete the work perfectly within the said time limit.

 

After the backfilling ad testing work of the pipeline completed, the disrupted ground is restored once again to its initial look. Construction of pipeline is not an easy job and it calls for some maintenance too after the work has been done. The inspectors of the project have been assigned with the job of monitoring and supervising the constructional work which they have to perform with great care.
